Best of Buffalo Bites

Every foodie knows that Buffalo is home to mouth-watering food! I personally am a sucker for good food and a patio to enjoy it on. With summertime right around the corner, I’m going to share my top 10 favorite places to enjoy the best drinks and food while soaking up the Buffalo sun!

Stop 1: Tappo

Located in Downtown Buffalo, Tappo is one of my favorite places to go and enjoy amazing Italian food, all while relaxing on their rooftop patio. Their live jazz music adds to their wonderful atmosphere. They offer great cocktails and desserts too (you must get a cannoli)! Since Tappo is always crowded, I make sure to make a reservation a few days in advance, especially if I want to sit on the rooftop. My Buffalo Bite of choice from Tappo is definitely the Alla Vodka Pasta with Sausage.

Stop 2: Resurgence Brewing Company

Resurgence Brewing Company is located in Downtown Buffalo. The brewery offers great space to get together with a large group of friends. They allow for customers to order their food directly from their phones. They then send a text when the food is ready for the customer to head to the bar to pick it up. It’s really neat to see how they have taken advantage of technology! They, of course, have outdoor seating and even a few fire-pit tables. My Buffalo Bite of choice from Resurgence is their Nachos!

Stop 3: Mother’s

Mother’s is one of my very favorite restaurants to go to for birthdays and celebrations. Their fine dining, cozy atmosphere, and welcoming staff makes for an excellent experience every time. They offer indoor and outdoor seating as well. I always make sure to make reservations far in advance (it is a smaller restaurant) and is very popular! My Buffalo Bite of choice at Mother’s is their NY Strip Steak.

Stop 4: Hamburg Brewing Company

Hamburg Brewing Company is one of my favorite places to get together with my friends. They are located in the Town of Hamburg, about 25 minutes from Downtown Buffalo. It is definitely worth the drive. Their patio is the best, and is very spacious! Sitting at their fire-pit tables, looking out at the pond, and drinking their craft beers provides the ultimate relaxation. My Buffalo Bite of choice at HBC is their Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip!

Stop 5: Forty Thieves

Forty Thieves is right in Elmwood Village and has become my go-to. They offer all of the best Buffalo bites, especially their chicken wings! All of their portion sizes are huge (which is a plus). The atmosphere in Forty is great, which is why it’s always packed. Their staff is extremely accommodating and very welcoming, something I always appreciate. Besides the chicken wings, my Buffalo Bite of choice is their Giant Soft Pretzel. When I say giant, I mean it!

Stop 6: The Public House on the Lake

The Public House on the Lake is located in Hamburg, New York, about 20 minutes from Downtown Buffalo. The Public House has a giant patio directly on Lake Erie. The views are incredible and watching the sunset from your table never gets old! They offer great seafood and are constantly changing their entrees to keep customers satisfied. Their outdoor bar and live music on the weekends makes for a great day in the sun. Their summer cocktails and 25 draft beer options are also a major bonus! Since it is such a great destination, I do recommend making reservations in advance. My buffalo Bite of choice at The Public House on the Lake is their Beer Clams!

Stop 7: Patrick’s Rooftop

Patrick’s Rooftop Bar has the best views of Downtown Buffalo and Lake Erie. Located at the top of 500 Pearl, Patrick’s Rooftop is a great place to get together with friends and enjoy their chic atmosphere. They have a great set up and have fire-pit tables for the chilly nights. Patrick’s Rooftop attracts a large crowd and is everyone’s weekend destination. They offer small bites and have outstanding handcrafted cocktails. My go-to cocktail is their Skinny Senorita.

Stop 8: Liberty Hound

This waterfront eatery is in Downtown Buffalo and is located inside Buffalo’s Historic Naval Park. They’re also directly next to Canalside, which is a great place to walk-around while waiting for your table to be ready. Offering seafood and American food, there is something for everyone on Liberty Hound’s menu. Their cocktails are also a must-have while sitting on their patio (my favorite is definitely their sangria). My Buffalo Bite of choice at Liberty Hound is their Shrimp PO’Boy.

Stop 9: Buffalo Riverworks

Buffalo Riverworks is located downtown along the Buffalo River. It is a giant complex that has great food and drinks. They host all different types of events, from concerts to hockey games! These events bring in great crowds. They also allow boats to dock right up to the restaurant in the summer. Riverworks’ patio is a great place to end your long day on the boat. If you head towards the silos that were transformed into Labatt Beer cans, you can’t miss Riverworks! My Buffalo Bite of choice at Riverworks is their Pizzas.

Stop 10: Templeton Landing

The large patio, beautiful waterfront views, and relaxing atmosphere makes Templeton Landing one of my favorite places to visit in the summer. They have plenty of seating, and outdoor bar, and my favorite; the fire-pit tables. They offer a great mix of American food and seafood so that everyone enjoys something. Their food and cocktails are always outstanding and I love sharing the spinach artichoke dip and clams with my table! My Buffalo Bite of choice is Templeton’s fresh haddock sandwich.

I hope you all enjoy these stops as much as I do!
