Wondering where to order your next pizza? In this article, I will be going over local pizzerias where you can find the best pizza in Buffalo, NY. To get these results I have created a survey of many of the popular spots and asked Buffalo natives to rank these spots and tell me which ones are their favorites and why. 1. Bocce Club Pizza
Our number 1 ranked pizza comes from Bocce Club Pizza. This Buffalo original has four great locations throughout the WNY area and has been in business since 1946. This pizzeria is more of a traditional one that you would think of, a smaller shop that consists mostly of the kitchen and for the most part, does take-out and delivery only. This has always been one of my favorites growing up as it was right across the street from my high school, it was a great place to grab an after-school snack with their wide variety of quick and easy menu items or a delicious pizza for dinner with my family.

2. Franco’s Pizza
Our second-ranked pizza comes from Franco’s Pizza, a Buffalo original that has five locations throughout WNY and has been open for the last 40 years! This happens to be my personal favorite since it always comes perfectly cooked, the sauce is very tasty and they use the perfect amount of cheese and spicy pepperoni (not too spicy) and a crispy crust. No matter which location you order from it is always consistent. In my opinion, this is Buffalo’s best pizza!

3. Amherst Pizza and Ale House
Our third-ranked pizza comes from Amherst Pizza and Ale House. This pizzeria however is a little different from our first two. Not only does it have the traditional take-out and delivery, but they also have a sit-down sports bar/restaurant attached to it. This restaurant has a great atmosphere with plenty of TVs to watch whatever big game is on. Not only that but they often have food and drink specials during big games which makes it a perfect spot to hang out and enjoy good food and drinks.

4. Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill
Our next spot, Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill, is very similar to the last with multiple great locations throughout WNY. Their main location in Williamsville has a large restaurant and bar inside, as well as a large patio for outdoor dining in the summertime, and private rooms that you can rent out for special occasions. They too have many TVs to watch big games and they often have live music for you to enjoy while having your meal! They have all these amenities and still offer take-out dining for their delicious pizza and wide variety menu.
5. Macy’s Place Pizzeria
Next up on our hunt for Buffalo’s best pizza we have Macy’s Place Pizzeria. This one is unlike the others on our list since its claim to fame is its large variety of “gourmet pizzas”. These fully-loaded gourmet pizzas have toppings that you would never imagine on a pizza, such as their “Philly Cheese Steak” pizza, “Pickle Pizza” or the “Stinger” pizza, and many more specialty pizzas that they offer. In my opinion, this pizzeria isn’t one that you would order from all the time, but everyone once in a while it would be refreshing to order one of these different pizzas. 6. La Nova Pizza
La Nova Pizza is another one of our Buffalo originals, that has been open since 1957. This pizzeria might be the most famous one around WNY since this is the pizza that is served and sold at all three of our local sports stadiums/arenas. They are the official pizza of the: Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Buffalo Bisons, our local professional sports teams. Other than that they have two local restaurant locations where you can try out the pizza for yourself! While this may be Buffalo’s most famous pizza it does not personally rank as my favorite.
7. Zetti’s Pizza & Pasta
Next on our list is Zetti’s Pizza & Pasta, this one is another restaurant that is different from the rest. Zetti’s which is located in Williamsville right across from the University at Buffalo campus is more known for its quick and easy order by the slice. Here they have a variety of different pizza styles premade and ready to order, all they have to do is heat it for a couple of minutes, and you’re ready to walk out the door. These pizzas are made fresh every couple of hours so it’s not “gross and sitting out all day”. Another reason, for its popularity, is the convenience that it offers for many students and others looking to grab a quick bite to eat. I do not think this is Buffalo’s best pizza, however, this is one of my favorite spots to grab a quick meal since the pizza is very good and the slices are really big and filling.
8. Mattina’s Pizzeria
Our last stop in the search for Buffalo’s best pizza is Mattina’s Pizzeria. Mattina’s is another Buffalo original with two locations across WNY that have both take-out and delivery options. They offer a great traditional Buffalo pizza that is always consistently good. This is another one of my favorite spots since it is very close to my house (just a 2 min drive, or maybe a 10 min walk) and the pizza is always very good. They are always one of my go-to spots!
