One of the symbols that the Peridot has is peacefulness and it is known as the stone of compassion. It is said that the Peridot will calm anger by giving renewal to all things. Peridot’s color appearance is yellowish green to the bright green color of nature. And due to this appearance, it can be commonly mistaken for other gemstones such as green topaz and emerald.

And because of this fact, the Spinel was commonly mistaken as to be Rubies often. Based on the study by GIA, one of the most famous historic events is that the Ruby on the Imperial State Crown of the United Kingdom, worn by Queen Elizabeth during the coronation, turned out to be the Spinel.
