What Is Morning Yoga For Stress Relief?

Morning yoga is a practice of gentle yoga poses and breathing exercises done first thing in the morning. It’s a fantastic way to wake up your body and mind, reduce stress, and improve your mood.

You don’t need any experience or fancy equipment to get started – just a comfortable space and a few minutes of your time.

Benefits Of Morning Yoga For Stress Relief:

  • Reduces stress hormones: Yoga helps lower cortisol, the stress hormone, leaving you feeling calmer and more focused.
  • Improves mood: Gentle movements and deep breathing can boost your mood and leave you feeling more positive.
  • Increases energy levels: Even a short yoga routine can get your blood flowing and leave you feeling energized for the day ahead.
  • Improves sleep: Regular yoga practice can contribute to better sleep quality, making mornings even easier.

The National Library of Medicine has done research on how yoga can help to relieve stress in many people. In a report they published they stated “Yoga encourages one to relax, slow the breath and focus on the present, shifting the balance from the sympathetic nervous system and the flight-or-fight response to the parasympathetic system and the relaxation response”.

In another research report done by The National Library of Medicine, they did a research study on how yoga reduces stress, anxiety, and depression in women. The National Library of Medicine found that “The present study showed that 12 sessions of intervention as regular hatha yoga exercise significantly reduced stress, anxiety, and depression in women”.
