(Source: Screen time and its impact on health).
I would spend a lot of time streaming shows on my laptop, and watching YouTube videos, and then I would head over to my socials for another distraction.
Also, while I was stationary I would binge eat snacks and takeout. There is nothing wrong with streaming your socials and shows, but in excess, it can take a toll on your physical and mental health.
Instead of watching shows, I decided to substitute just 30 minutes to an hour of my day for walking.
I began to take my self-care seriously and it all started with wellness walks. The switch then trickled into other areas of my life like my nutrition, education, and other lifestyle changes. I started walking so much that I began looking forward to it. This change was shocking for me because I wasn’t much of an active person before.
I am talking about being borderline sloth-like! Eventually, my speed started increasing, my breath control improved, and my body started slimming down a lot with consistency. Soon other people could see my results, not only was I looking good, but I was feeling good as well. Now, you can do it too!
